1. What a cookie is
A small file a site stores on your device so it can recognise your session or remember a preference. We also use similar technologies such as local storage. This policy covers all of them.
2. What we use, by purpose
- Strictly necessary — session integrity, load balancing, security and abuse prevention, and remembering that you dismissed a notice. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
- Preference — remembering choices such as a tool input you have entered so it survives a page change.
- Measurement — aggregate counts of which pages are read, so we know which education is useful. We do not use these to build an advertising profile.
We do not run advertising cookies and we do not sell personal information. If that changes, this page changes first and is dated.
3. Third parties
Some pages embed or call a third-party service — for example our form-intake endpoint. Those services may set their own cookies under their own policies. The processors involved are named in our privacy policy.
4. How long they last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last for a defined period and are refreshed on use; none is set to persist longer than is needed for its stated purpose.
5. Your controls
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and warn you before one is set. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of this site. Most browsers also send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal; where a legally recognised signal applies to us we honour it.
